A million strong….. and growing…

Moxie has probably double in size since the last pics were taken.  I think she is a little over 4 lbs now with lottttts of fur.  These are just some casual pics that we took last night around the house.

Portland Maine

So I played with the Portland Symphony this weekend on a John Williams Pops concert.  Here are a few pics from the weekend.

At the Porthole:

At the orchard in rural Maine where we picked some apples and ate apple cider donuts:

Dining room is done…. well not really.

Quite a few things have happened in the dining room now!  First off is that we did some work on the walls and painted.  I sanded the walls and basically just filled in grooves and holes with joint compound and a 10 and 12″ blade.  Its not really skim coating, but it cleaned things up a lot.  After the joint compound dried and I sanded it down for the primer.

After that was putting on the primer and paint.  We chose Lancaster Blue from Ralph Lauren Paints.  We used their tintable primer which was nice because it was the same color as the paint.  The pictures are a pretty accurate repr. of the actual color.  I also refinished the top of our dining table with new stain and polyurethane (satin finish).  It got gouged pretty badly in the move and there was only a spray on stain/lacquer finish on it that wasn’t very durable so I sanded it down, restained it and put 4 coats of poly on!  Should last a long time now.

The lighting fixture we got a nice upscale lighting and interior design store on their “as-is” table for $25!  We couldn’t pass it up.   This past week I picked up the console table from someone on Craigslist in Holliston.  Its a solid Teak table made in Thailand that someone just didn’t want anymore, wow!  The blinds are the same ones in the living from JcPenney.

As for the rest of the dining room, there is a little trim painting in white to finish, and the big goal is to refinish all of the wood floors downstairs during the last week of October while Katie is in Barcelona.   Allright here are some more pics.

Looks like Moxie made an appearance.

Spicy!

The spice drawer that I ordered and spice jars came this past week.  The drawer was custom made by a place online that makes drawers to your specs.  Its nice because you can have a regular cabinet door but drawers on the inside.
